Unstoppable pen
I’ve had this tremendous compulsion to write brought on by an experience from earlier today. While I may need to be up early to work, I can’t ignore the pen screaming to be pressed to paper. For all the times I’ve begged for the right words to show up and been angered at their tardiness, I refuse to ignore them when they screech on in.
Have a beautiful night, friends.

Positively ridiculous attack on Rick Mercer and... →
“Rick Mercer needs to know that he’s not doing anybody any good with his rants down the graffiti-tagged alley,” Ms. Mahoney fumed during a city council meeting Wednesday, suggesting the Mercer rants may have unintentionally encouraged the spread of graffiti throughout Canada.”

Preparing to say goodbye to 2011.
I think this may be the first time that I’m actually looking forward to the new year for reasons other than partying. So many lessons learned from what feels like a million mistakes, and so many things that need to be left in 2011 never to cross my mind again.

Apparently Side Walk Chalk is graffiti too? →
<rant> really, just what the hell. Let the children play with chalk. The idea that they are a safety hazard is ludicrous. If those Children are “hazards and a danger to the sidewalk,” then so are all animals, strollers, fallen food, etc. This is just the town trying to back track after making a stupid call initially, by backing up the initial decision with an even dumber...

Transit City: Streetcar Graffiti Art Show and... →
“When the shop owners came across a collection of paper streetcars, they decided to offer them up to local graffiti artists to see what they could do with them. The results are a fun Toronto-themed exhibit that illustrates just how creative many of these artists are even when confined to working with markers. In fact the miniature scale of the show is arguably the best part: here the...

Red Bull Ad Campaign Exploiting Street Artists? →
I’m torn with regards to this ad campaign. I LOVE street art, as you should know by now, but this just feels like exploitation.
I view street art as a grass roots, anti-corporate movement to reclaim and re-vision urban space. Yet, here comes a giant corporation stamping their name on the work of legitimate artists for their own gain. That’s the downside. The plus side? Readily...
